Riche d’une importante expérience musicale au cœur d’un parcours de vie atypique, Wesli nous offre avec ImmiGrand des sonorités très authentiques et nous transporte avec une musique hybride : à la fois festive et originale, « roots » et moderne, légère et sophistiquée. Des arrangements colorés, la présence d’instruments africains.
Sur cet album, je rends hommage à tous ceux qui quittent pays d’origine, famille, amis, qui caressent de grands rêves et qui apportent leurs cultures à leur pays d’accueil, tout en ayant cette capacité d’adaptation et d’intégration. À ceux-là, je les nomme : ImmiGrands, d’où vient le titre de mon album, c’est aussi mon histoire ! Je crée une musique ancrée dans mes racines et qui se veut le reflet de mes rencontres, collaborations de mon vécu ici au Canada. J’essaie de transmettre, avec ma musique, mon métissage et mes réflexions sur la société.

Wesli draws from a rich musical background and an unusual upbringing. As a musician, he delivers an authentic and hybrid sound that is uplifting, original, rootsy, modern, light, and sophisticated featuring colourful arrangements and African instruments.
On ImmiGrand, Wesli plays tribute to those who have left their native country, family, and friends in pursuit of bigger dreams and who hold on to their traditions while embracing the place they now call home. He calls these people “ImmiGrands,” and they are the inspiration for this album. His songs stem from my roots and tells the story of the people he has met in Canada. He uses music to express his background and his thoughts on society.
